Steven G. Chappell
Steven G. Chappell has worked with the Marine Systems
Engineering Laboratory (now part of The Autonomous
Undersea Systems Institute)since 1981. He received a B.S. degree in botany
from the University of New Hampshire in
1978. He received an M.S. in Computer Science from UNH in 1987. His thesis was
a prototype mission planner for an autonomous
vehicle based on a dual blackboard architecture.
As Software Systems Engineer at MSEL, he has designed, implemented, and
maintained software systems for MSEL's experimental autonomous vehicles
(EAVEs). His interests include autonomous systems, behavior based robotics,
artificial intelligence programming techniques applied to real world problems,
systems programming, and networking.
