Handling Events in Multiagent Systems

Our overall process for handling events during collaborative problem solving is shown in Figure 1. In many ways, it is similar to the process described by Turner (1994) for event handling when there is only a single agent involved: event detection, followed by diagnosis, importance assessment, and response selection. There are, however, some notable differences, as we discuss below.
