James C. Jalbert



James C. Jalbert received his BSEE and MSEE at the University of New Hampshire in 1963 and 1965, respectively. He spent several years as a development engineer working on smart weapons in the USAF. He also was a Research Associate at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories where he worked on laser research, signal diagnostics, and bandwidth compression. He has been with the Marine Systems Engineering Laboratory (now part of The Autonomous Undersea Systems Institute)since 1981 and is currently the senior systems engineer. He has been involved in the design, development and field operations of several generations of AUVs, and other processing intensive and robotic systems. His interests include further development of autonomous systems and their application to providing ocean scientists with a remote presence in the oceans and as mobile components of autonomous undersea sampling networks.
