STUDENT PAPER COMPETITION
CALL FOR PAPERS



The Autonomous Undersea Systems Institute is sponsoring the 10th International Symposium on Unmanned Untethered Submersible Technology on September 7-10, 1997. The Symposium will be held at the New England Center for Continuing Education at the University of New Hampshire

A student paper competition has been established in an effort to encourage and foster the participation of undergraduate and graduate students in research areas related to unmanned untethered submersible technology.

Intelligent Systems/Technologies * Autonomous Manipulation * Underwater Imaging * Sensor Systems and Processing * Guidance and Control Systems * Navigation * Reliability * Communications * Modeling * Energy * Distributed Control * Hydrodynamics * Applications of AUV Technology * Operational Systems Experience


When submitting papers to this competition, authors must specify which technical area listed above most clearly relates to the primary content of the paper. Papers will be judged primarily on technical content and originality. Students enrolled in a degree program on a full or part-time basis at an accredited college or university in a technical or scientific curriculum are eligible to submit a paper.


ABSTRACTS DUE: MARCH 15, 1997
MANUSCRIPTS DUE: MAY 15, 1997


(Winners will be notified by July 1, 1997)


Each winner (primary author) will receive a $500.00 scholarship and an invitation to present their winning paper at the Symposium. All of the author's expenses at the Symposium will be paid, including registration fee, transportation, and lodging. A winner must be present at the Symposium to receive their award.
